The GH4’s 16 MP live MOS sensor can record UHD 4K 3840X2160 and DCI 4K 4096X2160 at 24p. The GH4 offers a variety of recording formats, including AVCHD, AVCHD Progressive, 200 Mbps All-Intra, 100 Mbps IPB MOV, and MP4 formats. Internally, the camera records 4:2:0 8-bit and you can send out 4:2:2 8-bit via the HDMI. The Panasonic GH4 offers a variety of frame rates, up to 60 fps in full HD. The camera can also shoot even higher frame rates in variable slow motion, up to 96fps. However, it should be noted that at 96 fps the camera line-skips and pixel bins more aggressively, resulting in a softer image that may have some moire and aliasing issues. It’s a great camera to use as a C-cam or crash camera as well, and I bring one with me just for emergencies on pretty much every job I’m on. Rate: $100/day
